Day 82 of my 13 week (91 day) challenge to lose 28 pounds in weight, lose the dad bod, shape-up and get physically fit by performing Iron Wolf style burpee workouts.
(NB: in the video it states this is Day 81 – it is definitely 82).
Today I performed, for the first time, a full 3 rounds of my “Fat Scorcher” workout, which breaks down as follows:
20 x 1-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
20 x 2-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
20 x 3-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
20 x 1-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
20 x 2-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
20 x 3-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
20 x 1-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
20 x 2-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
20 x 3-pump burpees, 20 x squats, 20 x flutter kicks.
Totals are:
180 burpees (360 push ups)
180 squats
180 flutter kicks
This workout pushed me to my limit. Flutter kicks are new to me, and bring a new degree of difficulty to a burpee workout! Flutter kicks, straight after squats, turn my legs to jelly, making the next set of burpees extra tough! But, as Iron Wolf would say: “Nobody gives a fuck”, and so I pushed on through to the end (slower than I would have hope, but at least I finished the workout).
I think the days of aiming for just 100 burpees or 100 navy seals are over. They now seem like rest day looseners. For better or for worse I’ve entered the realm of high rep burpees and there’s no going back. Onwards and upwards from here!
